Charlotte Ama Osei is a lawyer, writer and an international elections consultant.

Charlotte is an established leader with significant high level experience in the public and private sectors, as well as leading not-for-profit institutions. Charlotte has previously served as United Nations International Electoral Commissioner to the Electoral Complaints Commission of Afghanistan (2019); Chairperson of Ghana’s Electoral Commission (2015-2018) and Chairperson of Ghana’s National Commission for Civic Education (2011-2015). She was also President of the Association of African Election Authorities (2015-2018) and has consulted widely and played active professional roles in several elections around Africa. In the private sector, Charlotte has over 25 years’ experience in commercial and corporate law with wide ranging experience from being an in-house general counsel, to founding and leading a boutique business law firm offering strategic legal solutions and advisory support to local and international businesses and institutions.

Charlotte is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, having obtained her LLB Hons degree from the University of Ghana, Legon in 1992 and her qualifying certificate in law from the Ghana School of Law in 1994. Charlotte also holds a Masters degree in Law from Queen’s University, Kingston Ontario as well as a Masters in Business Leadership (MBL) from the University of South Africa, Pretoria. She holds additional qualifications in Public-Private Partnerships and Securities and Investment Trading. She lectured contracts, commercial law and company law for several years at the School of Business of the University of Ghana, Legon.

She is founder and Lead Counsel of Cyrus Law and Cyrus Business Advisory (a boutique law firm and business consultancy group). She is also the host of Business Compass, a weekly coaching and mentoring TV program for young entrepreneurs in Ghana. Charlotte also sits on the board of several companies and institutions in and outside Ghana, where she proffers cutting edge counsel that helps to steer these companies and institutions.
