Charles Nwachukwu

Charles Nwachukwu was educated at the University of Lagos graduating in 1998. He was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2000 and received a Master’s degree in International Trade Law from the University of Wales in 2008.

Following stints in the financial and corporate law sectors he joined the Department of Petroleum Resources in 2008 where he served in various capacities including as the pioneer Coordinator of the Oil and Gas Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre.

He joined the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority in 2022 with responsibility for the Authority’s engagement with industry stakeholders on the implementation and operationalisation of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021.

Over the years Charles has served on various high level industry Committees and Working Groups. He is an alumnus of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre Accra, the International Human Resources Development Centre Boston, and has attended numerous professional development programs across the world.

Charles is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the International Dispute Resolution Institute, the Association of International Energy Negotiators and several other petroleum sector groups.
