Dr. Ndidi Nnoli-Edozienwas appointed as a full-time member of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) in July 2022.
Her career has been focused on building connections between business and sustainable development, working across multinational and indigenous companies, public institutions, and civil society organizations — in Africa and Europe — to initiate sustainable development initiatives. She served as the inaugural Group Chief Sustainability and Governance Officer of Dangote Industries Limited — one of Africa’s largest manufacturing businesses — from 2017 to 2020. In this role, she was responsible for developing the
company’s sustainability culture, strategy and reporting across fourteen (14) countries.
Dr. Nnoli-Edozien has also served on several boards, committees and initiatives focused on corporate culture, impact investing, sustainability reporting and governance. These include her time as a Director, Strategy & Monitoring/Head of the Office at the Nigerian Communications Commission; Nominee Director of the International Finance Corporation to sit on the Board of a Microfinance Bank; Founding Shareholder & Non-Executive Director, Interswitch Financial Inclusion Services; Stakeholder Council Member, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI); and Chair of the Corporate Governance & Sustainability Sub-Committee of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant’s Africa Advocacy Program, among others.
She is an educator who has served as a Senior Lecturer, Ethics, Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability at Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE); a Diploma in Catholic Social Teaching; and a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Ethics, Governance and Sustainability from the Goethe University Frankfurt.
